“Standard” Scanning Features: • 3200 ppi/dpi (Optical) 2 pass scanning! (doubles the scanning time but quality comes first) • Infra-red blemish / mould removal (that really works) and airbrush pre-cleaning. • Rotate & flip the slide to ensure its the correct way up and that signs etc are not backwards. • Brightness - Contrast and basic Colour Enhancement. Perfect for slides in good condition. “Professional” Scanning Features: using Photoshop Enhancements • Same features from “Standard” • Advanced removal of colour castes (often purple) and enrichment of colour. • Advanced Brightness and contrast adjustment to bring out detail and optimise for peoples faces. • Red eye removal. • Further scratch & Blemish removal (this is not photo restoration however) • Image sharpening when required. Slide Scanning Pricing (Prices shown correct Jan 2026) Minimum price of $30 is charged for slide scanning (due to the setting up time) • Standard Scanning: 79 cents per slide* *Options & Additional Costs per slide: Please read! • Professional Scanning add 70 cents • Scanning of slides in overly thick mounts add 10 cents (scanned separately) • Scanning of slides with Super sized images add 30 cents • Returning slides to client in carousels / cartridges or individual slots add 10 cents • Scanning slides in a specific order or naming & making folders (call for prices) Media Charges: Scanning prices above excludes USB Key - Disc or Cloud Upload We always supply the USB key - No client USB keys are accepted. o USB key = $15 o DVD Disc = $20 o Google Cloud upload = $15-20 (Link remains available for a minimum of 6 months) • Price quoted assumes slides are in reasonable condition. • Slides of different formats (see pics above) may have to be separated, then scanned and numbered at the end. We scan all slides that are in the standard 2” (51mm) square mount. Our professional scanners are set to scan at 3200ppi (optical) to get the most detail from your slides. For a 35mm slide this equates to a 12 Megapixel Image (4190 x 2810 pixels)* This high resolution transfer allows you to easily zoom in and crop out unwanted scenery and still achieve a sharp detailed image. • All our scans are 2 pass this doubles our scanning time but produces a superior result. The second scan is an Infra-Red scan which picks ups scratches and blemishes on the slide. • We DO NOT use “Digital Ice” for scratch removal which produces an inferior result. • Our scanners have Auto Enhancement Disabled to ensure the purest image possible. • Our Slide scanners can handle all slide image dimensions unlike many companies who use a 35mm scanner and have no choice but to crop the tops and bottom off some slide formats. • Images are supplied in JPG format on a USB key. • We can also make fantastic High definition slideshows from your digital images. (Images can also be supplied in Tiff format or supplied on a disc extra costs may apply) *(pixels vary slightly depending on slide mount).
